Saint Luke presides in the quatrefoil above the third Gospel Window, which also contains his special symbol, the winged ox. The medallions of his window picture many of the best loved parables told by our Lord. (Start in lower left corner and read up the columns from left to right.)
Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem—LUKE 19: 29-38. Christ rides upon the colt brought from the nearby village as the people spread their cloaks before Him.

Mary and Martha—LUKE 10: 3 8-42. Poor hardworking Martha fusses at the table with her many chores as sister Mary sits at Christ's feet to learn.

The Prodigal Son—LUKE 15: 1 1-24. The loving father welcomes the wandering son who has squandered his inheritance. Behind the father, a fatted calf awaits the feast of forgiveness.

The Sermon on the Mount—LUKE 6:20-49. Christ sits on a grassy hillside and preaches to the multitudes who have come from far and near to hear Him. The Messianic Rose blooms in the border.

Christ Cleansing the Temple—LUKE 19:4546. Christ upsets the money-changers' tables and wields the scourge against those who have turned the house of prayer into a den of thieves. The Seven Temple lamps burn around the head of Christ.

The Pharisee and the Publican—LUKE 18:914. The proud, selfrighteous Pharisee stands beside the Temple lamps to pray while the Publican in true humility bows his head in a corner to ask God's mercy.

The Good Samaritan—LUKE 10:25-37. The Samaritan succors the poor man robbed and beaten by the thieves that lurked along the road from Jerusalem to Jericho.

The Sabbath Discourse in the Wheatfields— LUKE 6:1-5. Christ passes through the fields with His disciples and harvests grain, even on the Sabbath, "for the Son of Man is Lord also of the Sabbath." The border contains a crown and harp, symbols of David, referred to by Christ.
